We thought the Center Plaza Hotel was a great place to base yourself for a holiday in Reykjavik/Iceland. Having stayed in Iceland quite a few times in the past , this hotel was the most central one we've stayed in. All the major bus/coach/excursion companies will drop off and pick up from just around the corner - Bus stop 1 - Vonarstræti 101, 101 Reykjavíkbus. The room was a good size for a standard double/twin room, there are hotels offering much smaller. We didn't have any issues with street noise - however we did stay 'off season' (Jan22). The view from our window was directly across from the main street into the rest of the city - really nice later at night as it was all lit up. The buffet style breakfast was very generous in my opinion and there was plenty of choice (my wife is vegetarian and also had plenty to choose from). All the staff that we interacted with were friendly and helpful. We would both happily stay at this hotel again on another visit to Reykjavik!

Nice, neat, stylish room with a scandinavian inspired furniture, roomy, comfy mattress, nice hot shower with all amendes and fluffy towels, hot water kettle, and room with coffee and tea. This is a great way to make a quick snack of Roman et cetera. Breakfast buffet included with room was very nice with several hot items. European flare meats, fish, fresh veggies and fruits. Fresh baked breads and granola bars. A very nice coffee bar. Great shop next door to the lobby to get a few groceries. There's a Gelato shop next to the lobby front desk staff very helpful, especially after midnight late check in due to late flight. They held baggage upon checkout while awaiting hour cab. So we could do additional walk about the city.

The hotel is located in the very centre of Reykjavik down town, its facade looks on the square with city central activities of its inhabitants. The square is popular with bikers, skaters, city youngsters, locals and tourists. The hotel rooms are clean, the breakfast is for all guests that makes it easier to run their business model. Usually the hotel is with lots of guests due to its good service provided and an excellent location. It was my second stay in the property and I made one more booking at the end of my latest visit to Reykjavik. I do find it a right option (price / service ration) among Reykjavik selection.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, we had most of our holiday planned out but I'm not very adventurous with food, they pointed out some great places to eat. Not only that but I had three requests for the staff while I was there, all three got done within the same minute of asking. The room was clean. The hotel was clean. Our room was looking down on the square which was awesome. Every morning at 6am when getting ready for that day's adventure, I would sit in the window and watch the sun rise over the mountains. I and my partner really enjoyed this hotel. I'll be coming back.

You can't beat the location of this hotel! It is right in the middle of downtown Reykjavik, overlooking a plaza below. We had a room on the top floor corner, with a balcony that overlooked the whole city (~250 degree views), including two churches, the harbor, and much of the shopping and restaurant district. It was walking distance to everything we wanted to do in Reykjavik. Overall, the hotel was pretty nice, but it was the most expensive place we stayed in Iceland (but to be expected, being in Reykjavik city center).
